Danger to life: People seen hanging off Cadishead Viaduct

Cadishead viaduct that goes over the Manchester Ship Canal to Partington used to be a freight line from 1964 and the line went out towards Timperley and was closed down in 1984.

Containers can be seen that blocked Cadishead and Partington as gangs used to fight on the bridge, these containers are in very poor condition and have now huge gaps in them for people to walk freely on this dangerous bridge.

The bridge is in a dangerous condition and it was shocking to even see people walking on this bridge but to be walking on a small ledge on the outside of the bridge was just insane.

This was so dangerous the host rightly told people not to follow what he was doing, all the same the three in the video was inches away from death, one move in the wrong direction, or a slip the show was over.

Network Rail had already been informed about the state of the bridge and the one over Bridgewater Canal in Timperley yet they have done very little to secure them from explorers as insane as those in the YouTube video.

We are aware that some people who like rail do visit the bridges however very few attempt to cross them and for a very good reason.

This YouTube video shows how dangerous it is and the messages are clear not to be crossing this bridge and another for Network Rail who still owns it that they need to secure the area both sides so no one ends up dead, to do nothing is irresponsible.
