Yet another won appeal by Three-UK who have now installed a 5G mast near Longford Park in Stretford.
Workmen were seen during today (22 Oct) installing the mast on the Greatstone Road circle which is located in between two sections of Kings Road and very close to residential areas and Longford Park.
A 20 metre 5G mast with 9 antennas on it is not very far away behind the former B&Q building.
Residents in the area the mast has now been built objected to the mast in the application that was refused by Trafford Planning for siting and appearance.
One resident who objected said: “I do not consider any benefit of the installation of the said monopole to the local community.”
The mast also is within 200 metre of a local school, Three-UK said on the application that they “Sent a letter” out to the school.
After checking the original application we see no ward councillors or the MP was contacted.
Interestingly and it might have been missed by many people who read the application as these words were written: “Members of the public cannot unknowingly enter areas close to the antennas where exposure may exceed the relevant guidelines”
With this statement on the application it means a fence must be put around it? its too dangerous to be anywhere near the antennas, so what about people living close to them? what about people in the car park or having a drink in the nearby pub, or walking the dog, going shopping? getting in a car? going to Longford Park?
The antennas are only 15 metres so according to that statement we have to be in a safe zone from the antennas, how much distance do people need to be safe? this will apply to all antennas as simply 5G is 5G and other than a different design and company who makes them they are all the same.
With these monopoles going up everwhere we have to look at this revealing statement with some concern.
We know about the Sale Moor 5G mast being built after Three-UK won an appeal, this mast is very small in height and the exposure levels around that mast will be very concerning more so for the car wash on Northenden Road.
Other masts where 5G exposure levels exceed the ICNIRP guidelines will be masts built near schools or playgrounds, masts that are built very close to residential areas.
