The new UK PM is to be former Chancellor Rishi Sunak after Penny Mordaunt decided to drop out at the last minute.
On 25 October Liz Truss hands over the job to Rishi and he will then have to go to the KIng and announce he is to be the Prime Minister.
Sunak took charge of the finances during the pandemic, it seems according to a report by the Spectator Rishi Sunak was the one guy who believed lockdown was not needed and the scare stories should have been stopped.
Just as the Pandemic started to take off Sunak announced a £350bn package for the country to be able to operate as best as it could, money for furlough and for business that had to shut due to Covid, councils and NHS departments needed financing, yet Sunak knew Lockdowns was not needed!
We also have to remember who foots the bill for all the wasted money during the pandemic! yea you! The public was hit hard and will continue to be hit hard for decades to pay back what was spent, the governments bad decisions with money is always the innocent tax payers fault.
Sunak is a multiple billionair with his wife making billions he is going to make some big decisions that could make or break an already rudderless Conservative party, he will have to make sure the most vulnerable in society are protected, the tripple lock for the elderly kept locked and to make sure no child goes hungry before during and after school in deprived communities.
The government needs to get its act together and run this country as best as it can helping local councils with the finance they need so we do not see the threat of austerity become a reality, and most importantly to help small businesses out so they don’t go bust, some businesses have already gone to the wall and others are heading that way.
If we have no shops, no takeaways on the high street would be a disaster! Sunak needs to protect these places to make sure they continue to operate and help keep the economy ticking.
We do not yet know Sunak’s team although it will be probably similar to Johnson’s team and lastly it is hoped a new chancellor can be appointed one that knows what he is doing and less of a Grinch.
