For the first time ever the Sale Area Model Engineering Society decided to use powerful strobes on the Walton Park Halloween ride.
The strobes were so bright even our reporter was almost blinded by them, he asked a member of staff wearing a yellow bib with the name on the back about these strobes and if they did any research into the safety of them since they were aimed (not deliberately) at the front of the model trains in the drivers eyes and kids behind.
The event though was a good one, loads of kids enjoying the rides on the other side of the park, and having something to eat, kids dressing up in costumes some so scary our reporter had to look twice.
Halloween 2022 in Walton Park was a great occasion and one the Walton Park Group always do a great job making sure everything is working as it should and it did despite the strobe issue.
It seems no one thought about the possibilities of photosensitive epilepsy in some children and the temporary blindness.
Sale Model and Engineering Group who have a great reputation and the kids love going on the train rides have been contacted and we will add any response to this article.
