A recall recently of several big named products from Unilever and Proctor and gamble that occurred in the US and Canada gladly does not apply to the UK.
Samples of the Dry shampoo aerosol contained levels of Benzine which is a known carcinogen and so a total number of 19 products were pulled for safety reasons.
Benzine is actuallu found in the air around petrol stations and mostly in tobacco smoke, The benzine that was found in the shampoos we believe was located in the propellant.
The product recall does not apply to the UK as stated .
A Unilever spokesperson said: “Unilever U.S. and Canada voluntarily recalled select lot codes of dry shampoo produced prior to October 2021 out of an abundance of caution, after an internal investigation identified elevated levels of benzene. An independent health hazard evaluation concluded that levels of benzene detected do not pose a health risk.”
