Delivery robots are being trialled out here in Trafford for Coop food stores in Sale and Timperly.

The robots built by Starship Technologies are seriously advanced technology, using ultrasonic sensors, 12 cameras, radar, GPS, alarm system, reflectors, time-of-flight cameras, stereo cameras.

They each weigh 34kg and the dimensions are approximately without the flag 697 x 569 x 571 mm the total load will be 10kg.

Every robot will travel at 3.7mph and are designed for pavements and paths, a robot can also go on the road.

If you see a delivery bot it won’t bother you, if you stand in its way it will go around you, its an intelligent bit of kit and also it would be hard work to try and break it although anything is possible these days!

Robots as we have said in our articles will ‘Eventually’ take many people’s jobs, Robots like this use AI which current PM Rishi Sunak has recently said “We must be leaders in” sadly as we advance further robots will replace people in some industries.

The delivery robots though has a place in society, it can be much better for people and we think it will be a success if approved.
