With the outgoing Stretford and Urmston MP Kate Green a by-election was called to install the new MP, The names of all the candidates are below:

Emily Carter-Kandola (Conservative)

Anna Fryer (Liberal Democrats)

Hazel Gibb (Independent)

Christina Glancy (Freedom Alliance)

Dan Jerrome (Green Party)

Jim Newell (Rejoin EU)

Paul Swansborough (Reform UK)

Andrew Western (Labour)

Julien Yvon (Social Democratic Party)

Voting ended at 10pm tonight (15 December) and we now await the winner who will become the new Stretford and Urmston MP, the predictions are that Trafford Labour Leader Andrew Western will come out on top, however do not right anyone off just yet!

We expect going off past elections and what is happening to the country Labour will win by a landslide, it will be difficult to predict second place in this election however we think Reform will be fighting the Tories, Green Party will be fighting Lib Dems for the other places and the others will grab minor places.

The Tories will find it very difficult in any election now due to many factors that we all know about, however we have been keeping tabs on what the Trafford Tories are doing in the borough and from our research they are doing much more than any other political party and for some time.

We next look at Reform Party with leader Richard Tice who last weekend was scheduled to join candidate Paul Swansborough in Urmston.

Reform will be the choice of many people in Trafford and could even dump the Tories even further down the list!

Green Party candidate Dan Jerrome has put himself forward to try and become an MP, in his time in politics winning the long standing Tory Altrincham seat has done very well, he has a good name in Altrincham, a cycling enthusiast and of course all things green will appeal to many people.

Christine Glancy from the Freedom Alliance Party will be chasing the votes, we are fully aware her party does not want 5G in the borough which is very helpful, the party has some good policies.
