A man has been detained by police after he was seen climbing on top of the Trafford Council roof on Talbot Road in Old Trafford.

The man climbed up at around 5.30am this morning and was brought down by specialist police officers and now being checked over at a local hospital he was not arrested.

Police had closed to the road to allow Emergency Services to help bring the man down safely, the road has now been reopened.

According the an article written by the MEN the same man was seen on the roof of Stretford Public Hall earlier in the year protesting about Trafford Mental Health Service.

Although the man has according to MEN some form of mental health condition we can give the man a thumbs up! Mental Health services are in a bad way according to our research and the scandal that unwell people who were previously able to find help are now having to rely on already stretched GP’s.

We spoke with a Trafford GP and the individual who does not want to be named told us that “Yes Mental Health Services in Trafford are now broken.” a mental health advocate told us “To get into Brookheys or anywhere else now you will need to be intending to harm yourself or others” this is in our eyes a scandal.

Leaving some very unwell people out in the cold could end up in a fatality, where is the prevention?

Whilst we know the NHS is being dismantled bit by bit just like Margaret Thatcher wanted all them years ago, wanting so desperately to have a US style healthcare system the government surely must have in place safeguards for vulnerable people and not to throw them into the dustbin to rot away.

Similarly the Trafford Tories when they were in charge of the council decided not to fund one if not the best Mental Health Advocacy services in Manchester the service was so good that it helped vulnerable people have a voice with everything.

Housing issues, debt problems, and more importantly they made sure that the client got justice when things went wrong, just as it has with potentially thousands of unwell people that have been left with only medication that often does not work.

It is doubtful this man or others pleas for help will be heard by the brain dead councillors that it seems are feeding from the fear these vulnerable people have, one support worker telling us “These people have too much self importance to be bothered what happens”

One Sale Councillor told us recently he was going to help people with mental health issues and those that need support, to get back the advocacy service and he did nothing! utterly shameful just to get votes! this is what they are! shameful.

Whilst we need these councillors and not all are bad! it is with some hope that this man who climbed the roof of Trafford Council and our article will get something done to help the most vulnerable people in society in 2023.
