Many parts of Sale will come to a near standstill in the next couple of months as One Trafford continues road surface improvements in the borough.

Sinderland Lane in Dunham Massey also gets much more needed resurfacing from Whitehouse Lane to Birch Road with work scheduled to start on 6 March 2022.

It is Sale though that continues to get the surface treatment in a big way with many roads being worked on which some are:

  • The Avenue
  • Manor Avenue
  • Denstone Avenue
  • Truro Drive
  • Beechwood Drive
  • Yulan Drive
  • Ashford Drive
  • Lavender Close
  • Bracken Close
  • Vine Close
  • Pine Grove
  • Romeford Road
  • Queens Road
  • Sandwell Drive
  • Florence Street
  • Meadows Road
  • Cranford Drive
  • Oldfield Road
  • Anfield Road
  • Lynwood Grove
  • Fernacre
  • Irlam Road
  • Washway Road

More roads in Sale are set to get some road surfacing which will mostly be in April, residents in other parts of Sale who have already had work done have largely been supportive although several seen on social media were seen complaining that some roads like Walton Road and Eastway did not doing where other roads needed road surface improvements.

Many roads will get crushed stone with a tar coating which takes a while for it to gel into place and then resembles what becomes a decent surface.

The council is under pressure to save money despite this they are trying to make sure that the roads of the borough are safe for all road users and repair potholes where one is either reported or seen although many potholes are missed by One Trafford they eventually get to it.

With a big Marathon coming up the new surfaces would be welcomed by both organisers and the runners that come from all over the UK.

Although GM Roadworks say that all roads will be closed, most will have traffic lights to keep the traffic flowing although expect delays.
