Coming into this game Manchester United were in a confident mood following a huge win in the Europa Cup versus Barcelona.
The doubt for United fans was the injury to Marcus Rashford, however this was proved to be nothing and Rashford started the game against a Newcastle side who are in free fall in the Premier League.
At a full capacity Wembley was rocking, half Newcastle and half Manchester United fans in fine voice cheering on their team, and they had much to cheer as the players came on to the pitch to work their magic.
It was though Manchester United who dominated the first half with the two goals that won the game for the mighty reds, with Casemiro scoring first in the 33th minute then Rashford soon after.
Newcastle had their chances mostly in the second half, it was though Manchester United who held on to the 2-0 lead to win the Carabao cup after 5 minutes of extra time and worthy winners on the day.
This will lift Manchester United’s confidence even further as they go into a huge game on Sunday against rivals Liverpool.
Under Ten Hag Manchester United are back winning things again and still in the hunt for a Europa League cup win and who knows maybe even the FA Cup and a Champions League place for next season.
With more additions to the playing squad coming in the summer, Manchester United will be even stronger next season.
