A LEADING house builder is showcasing its love of animals by offering the opportunity to give family pets pride of place, as part of National Pet Month.
Miller Homes recognises the importance of four legged friends – so much so that it has even designed a space perfect for them to call their own in some of their properties.
And now as National Pet Month gets underway (April) the company is asking animal lovers to celebrate their fur baby – regardless of whether it’s a cat, rabbit or dog – by posting a picture of their pet at home – and be in the running to win a very special prize.
The company recognises that for many of their homeowners, life wouldn’t be complete without the family pet.
Which means the prize on offer couldn’t be more apt – a pet portrait which can be hung in their homes.
Anyone wanting to enter needs to share their photo on Facebook or Instagram and tag Miller Homes or use #mymillerpet. The winners will be picked at random after the closing date on 23 April 2023.
National Pet Month – which runs until 1 May – celebrates and raises awareness of responsible pet ownership and highlights the many benefits of owning a pet.
Having a family pet has been proven to give great health benefits, including living
longer, relieving stress and lowering blood pressure.
A number of studies have been carried out to showcase the positive reasons to have a pet, from offering comfort and companionship to giving people the opportunity to exercise.
Miller Homes has already incorporated an understairs dog friendly space in some of its homes, where the family pooch can have its own area but still be part of family life.
The pet loving company previously teamed up with animal welfare charity, Blue Cross, to share advice with anyone thinking of finding a new canine companion, sharing vital information that any would-be pet owner needs to know.
This includes potentially toxic foods such as chocolate, onions and grapes as well as seemingly harmless houseplants like aloe vera or spider plants, which can be dangerous for dogs and cats.
Dogs are sociable animals so they need time spent with them, but they also like to have their own space where they can retreat into if they feel stressed.
This may be a crate, a space in the kitchen – or their own under stair sanctuary.
Clare Noakes, Sales Director of Miller Homes North West said: “the company was happy to be helping celebrate National Pet Month.
We know that so many of our house buyers own pets which are a very important part of their families’ lives,” Clare said.
“We create homes that really are for everyone and – that includes the four legged members of the family.
“National Pet Month is a great opportunity to highlight the many benefits of bringing an animal into a home and the joy they bring to everyone.”
