Despite the fairly small distance new runners must still prepare in the same way as any other running event, although intermediate runners and those at a higher level will already be doing lots of speed work at the local athletic track and other running work.
Trainers play a key part in how well you run they also provide a level of comfort and shock absorption that helps you to enjoy your run but also can help stop injuries.
Make sure you wear the right clothing for the day and no heavy meals from the Friday and Saturday before the event.
