A woman from Trafford has won the Coronation Champions Award 2023 for her work with assisting with a pet food bank and running her own Stray and Feral Rescue which has been running since 2018.

Karen Sykes was awarded the Coronation Champions Award for outstanding commitment to volunteering she was one of 500 people in England.

The Coronation Champions Awards recognise a diverse group of volunteers from different backgrounds and communities across the UK from a range of causes.

Every rescued cat cost £150 with vet fees and indeed Monty the latest one had cat flu and a badly injured paw and he will have cost at least £500.

With the award Karen so rightly won and deserved for her dedication to helping a food bank for cats, including giving a home to those pets that have either strayed or abandoned also deserves the public’s help to keep ‘Karen’s Kitties Stray and Feral Rescue’ operating.

The impact of her work helping owners find missing cats and her work preparing cats to be fostered and a home is outstanding, sadly more cats have been abandoned due to the cost of living crisis and this rise means more cats need caring for and then comes the vet bills which as you can read above becomes very expensive so donations are badly needed.

To help Karen and the cats of M33 please donate whatever you can be made at the Emporium 3-7 Tatton Road Sale Cheshire M33 7EB [ opposite the town hall ] and donations for Karen’s Kitties can be made by heading to the Facebook page Cats of M33 fundraising for Karen’s Kitties where you will also find more information.
