Roadworks causing traffic chaos in the Altrincham and Sale areas

Roadworks at the junction of Sinderland Road and A56 meant huge traffic congestion both ways this morning and afternoon in Trafford.

Tail backs as far as Dunham Road heading north bound all the way past Altrincham Retail Park could be seen including south bound traffic which tailed back to Eastway in Sale.

Looking on Google Maps traffic shown a crash symbol at the junction of George Richards Way this morning which would have caused further issues.

According to GM Roadworks it says the work was for Transport for Greater Manchester and should be completed by tomorrow 17 May 2023.

At the time of publishing the tail backs have decreased although still very busy, if work continues during rush hour then expect huge delays and this also means on the back roads.
