Spectators came out to support all the runners in today’s Great Manchester Run including Mo Farah who chose Manchester as his last ever competitive run until the end of the year when he bows out of Athletics.
With a small change in route which confused some spectators and photographers the event was a huge success.
This event was all about Mo Farah and for that brief moment people will hold on to the memory that they saw a truly great runner of our times and running on Trafford roads.
Other big named runners also competed giving Farah something to think about as Farah found things difficult as he came around near Manchester United’s ground.
At the end of the 10k race Farah managed to get 8th place with a time of 29.11 which is very respectable, the winner was Eyob Faniel with a time of 28.27.
The Elite women’s race was won by Helen Obiri with a time of 31.14 sadly no Eilish McColgan this year due to injury.
