Local homebuilder Miller Homes is proudly announcing that its Manchester development, Novus which has now sold all 282 homes in just over three years.

The site, located in Stretford, is a remarkable example of land regeneration. The derelict brownfield area was once the old Itron gas factory but has now been completely transformed into a modern and stylish collection of 282 homes consisting of 191 one- and two-bedroom apartments, as well as 91 two- to four-bedroom houses.

As of May 2023, the builder is announcing all of these homes have been sold, marking the success of this impressive regeneration project, just over 3 years since its opening in January 2020.

Of the buyers, 61% were first time buyers, taking advantage of generous schemes offered by both Miller Homes and the Government, followed by 24% ‘second steppers’. The builder has excelled with a sales rate of 1.6 per week, which is well above industry average of 0.7 according to the HBF.

Clare Noakes, Sales Director of Miller Homes North West, commented: “Novus has been a hugely popular development due to the quality of homes and its excellent location.  We’re delighted that all the homes of our flagship development are now all sold. It’s great to see the site turn into a real community that fits so well with the surrounding area.

A purchaser on the development added: “As well as loving our new home, the Miller Homes team has been fantastic throughout. The site is a true urban development, with scope for several parks, greenery, and a pedestrianised walkway through the centre, which should help to create a pleasant and happy community. It caters for all, young professionals and families alike.”

The imaginative and creative regeneration scheme utilised when creating Novus has been praised for its sustainable dual-action approach to treating TCE contamination, saving 10,000 tonnes of landfill waste. So far, roughly 99.7% of onsite material has also been reused.

Miller Homes continues to contribute to the regeneration of Greater Manchester and is currently working on a large development in Northenden, transforming the old Manchester College city campus into Varsity Quarter – a stylish new residential area.
