The first ever derby between Manchester United and Manchester City ended up with the blue half winning on what was a very poor game overall.

It started well for Peps blue army with Gundogan scoring the fastest ever goal in the biggest domestic cup game (recorded as 1 minute), United were stunned and from that moment onwards the red devils couldn’t get into the game until they got a penalty with which Fernandes scored.

United were now back in this game despite a Man City fan throwing something at Lindelof United now looked to be revived, United fans going crazy it seemed at this point the red half of Manchester would go on to win the game, despite this United could not get another goal and at Half time it was 1-1.

The second half United should have punished City since they didn’t even get out of second gear, performance wise the blues did not even show up! with an eye on the Champions League next week might have been the reason.

Then Gundogan decided to shoot towards the goal, so bad he did not even connect proper and yet found its way into De Gea’s goal, Man City now 2-1 up, fans and commentators finding that De Gea was at fault with both goals, this one more so! although he had players blocking the flight of the ball, De Gea was too slow to react.

One of the problems throughout he game whenever De Gea was in action City really didn’t do too much to make the Man United keeper sweat and he was flat footed, looking uninterested, maybe with half of his mind on a holiday!

Next season Ten Hag will need to test De Gea by bringing in a really good reserve keeper to push the Spanish shot stopper, other signings will be needed with the sincere hope the owners sell the club to Sheikh Jassim Bin Hamed Al Thani.

As for City despite the poor performance managed to scrape the 2-1 win and now head for Champions League Final to play against Inter Milan, to win this game would mean they will have a hatrick of wins on what has been a successful campaign for Peps blue army.
