Predicted thunderstorm arrived a day late as things got lively in Trafford

The storms predicted for weekend came a day late as Trafford got hammered by one of the worst storms we have seen in a while.

We believe several floods have occurred in the Urmston area including Eden Square and around the Trafford Centre, reports from social media also came in about flooding in Costco in Irlam.

This comes after several weeks of warm weather, however no more rain or storms are predicted for the rest of the evening although it will remain very humid.

From what was a nice warm day suddenly became something completely different more so for those out and about with no jackets on! those that went for a run or just a nice walk ended up drenched and possibly hurt since the hailstone came down at a rate of knots and bigger than previously seen in a storm.

After the worst had gone lightning could still be seen and rain although much reduced was still falling leading to localised flooding.

It is predicted that storms like this are going to get worse due to climate change although many also believe its actually a normal event during a solar maximum.
