A new festival is coming to Sale – and you won’t believe where it’s taking place.

On Wednesday 28 June, from 11am-3pm, Care UK’s Oakfield Croft, on Oakfield, is set to hit the right note as it opens its doors to local people for the brand-new Oaklife Festival.

The fun-filled festival comes as Oakfield Croft celebrates Care Home Open Week, a national initiative that encourages care homes to open their doors and showcase what life in a care home is really like.

Oaklife will see guests invited to dance along to live entertainment from a host of local singers who will be performing classic hits from across the decades on an outdoor stage – sure to get the party started.

Donning their flower crowns, residents and guests will be able to get their sweet fix, with an ice cream van on hand. There will also be a variety of stalls, including a handmade jewellery stall and a cake stall.

Visitors will also be treated to a barbecue, including burgers and sausages, specially prepared by the home’s talented head chef.

Daniel Cole, Home Manager at Oakfield Croft, commented: “We’re excited to be opening our doors to the local community to celebrate Care Home Open Week with our Oaklife Festival.

“For older people, reminiscing about nostalgic events, including festivals and watching live music, can help bring back happy memories, as well as prompting conversation and connection with those around them. For those living with dementia, these positive feelings gained from revisiting fond memories can help decrease stress, reduce agitation, and improve mood too.

“We’re excited to be welcoming the Sale community as we open our doors and ask everyone to join us in putting their dancing shoes on as we get the opportunity to be young, wild and free once more!”
