Manchester United are without a world class goalkeeper as David De Gea decides to quit the club.
It is expected though Inter Milan keeper Andre Onana will be the new Manchester United number one in the next few days or so which will bring much needed stability at the back and a more commanding goalkeeper.
De Gea though spent a long time at United and has become a legend and will always be loved by the fans of the club despite some school boy errors that cost United some very important games.
The Spanish International shot stopper came on Twitter to announce he had left the club and not through official sources which explained why some players were surprised, although later Man United had several articles about the former red.
Dea Gea posted this message:
I just wanted to send this farewell message to all Manchester United supporters.
I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club. I took incredible pride everytime I pulled on this shirt, to lead the team, to represent this institution, the biggest club in the world was an honour only bestows upon a few lucky footballers.
It’s been an unforgettable and successful period since I came here. I didn’t think from leaving Madrid as a young boy we would achieve what we did together. Now, it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings.
Manchester will always be in my heart, Manchester has shaped me and will never leave me.
We’ve seen it all.
So at this time De Gea is not with any club although its expected his agent will be busy trying to get him a good deal at possibly another Premier League club or he may opt for going abroad although unlikely to follow former team mate Ronaldo at Al Nasser.
