One of the biggest cycling tours is coming back to Altrincham in September The Tour of Britain will start in Altrincham and will finish in Manchester City Centre on September 3.
The start (Stage one) will see cycling fans pack Altrincham to see there cycling heroes and the latest bikes to drool over.
In recent times the tour came to Altrincham and was a complete success with thousands of people turning up near the market to see the riders and wish them well for the long ride that was in front of them, it was also pleasing to see local team Seamons Cycling Club being able to ride in a group just before the start.

The tour brings with it much interest in cycling for not only competition but for relaxing rides out in the countryside where many people would end up at a local cafe having a bite to eat and a cool drink.
Cycling has many advantages, weight loss can be achieved when doing faster rides and its great for your mental wellbeing, your overall health will improve the more you get out, you can go anywhere such as Warrington down the TPT (Trans Pennine Trail) from Broadheath and the other way towards Stockport.
Having a long day out on your bike will need a well maintained bike and spares, lots of drink and food for the ride such as flap jacks and energy gels or whatever you like that can be brought with you.
The Tour of Britain will be live on our YouTube channel on the day lets hope the sun shines!
