Trafford MV takes to the field this weekend the first time in their 100th season

Trafford MV Rugby Club welcomes Didsbury Toc H to MacPherson Park this Saturday afternoon as they take to the field for the first time in their 100th season.

Having celebrated their inception with a gala marquee weekend back in May it is now time to party on the pitch as games get under way.

This weekend we call on local sports people to come down and enjoy our pre-season friendly against near neighbours Didsbury Toc H which kicks off at 3.00pm on Aug 12th. 

Trafford have recruited well over the Summer so far but are still looking to add further strength to their ambitious squad. After just missing out on promotion last season, finishing level on points but falling short on scoring differential, Trafford are desperate to put the story straight. Didsbury will be a strong test as to where TMV are and the main focus will be on the opening League fixtures at the start of September.

Trafford MV are keen to give local rugby players the inclusive rugby experience. Good facilities, good rugby, good social scene and good coaching all in an amateur environment where your work/life balance matters.

The Club is a stepping stone for young players to enter Club rugby from either school/college or University. It is also a step on the ladder for players with ambition who wish to compete for a place in a strong and ambitious 1st XV.

We are also calling on players that may have drifted out of the game over recent seasons or who may be looking to re-enter the game after time out for work / family reasons.

We have rugby for all ages from mini/junior rugby up to Walking Rugby for over 50’s. There are teams for both girls and boys at both youth and adult levels. Just get in touch for any info.
