Broadcaster Sir Micheal Parkinson has died aged 88

Broadcaster and Journalist Micheal Parkinson has sadly died aged 88.

Micheal Parkinson who was a journalist before going into broadcasting will be best remembered for his talk show ‘Parkinson’ which initially was on BBC from 1971 -1982, the show was then relaunched in 1998, the talk show ended up on ITV in 2004.

Often known as ‘Parky’ he interviewed some big time celebs on his talk show including Muhammad Ali, George Micheal, Meg Ryan, Sir Elton John and many more.

His career though started as a journalist at Manchester Guardian and it was during the 60’s he went into broadcasting which included being a presenter for GMTV.

Parky sadly died from a short illness on 16 Aug 2023 at his home with his family around him
