Tonight (30 Aug) the Earth is closest it has ever been to the moon and rarely its the second one in a month and this will not happen again until 2037.
The moon is normally 238, 855 miles away from the Earth but tonight it will be 222,043 miles away, you will also see Saturn much closer also.
Its that time you can get some good footage even with your mobile phone! however if you have a good DSLR with a 300mm lens or more you will get a great picture, you could also use one of the super zoom cameras such as Nikon p900,p950 and p1000 or similar if you have one.
The best time to see the moon will be around 8pm and it will peak in the early hours of Thursday lets hope the night will be clear.
