Officers from Trafford Council’s Community Safety Team and an Inspector from Greater Manchester Police attended Wigan Magistrates Court today and were successful in applying for a closure order on a residence in the Moss Road area of Stretford.

Significant concerns relating to violence and disorder in relation to the address had been raised and a number of incidents had taken place in and around the address which led to the order being requested.

The Court agreed that it was necessary to make a Closure Order to prevent future problems at the address and it is now closed for three months. The closure can be extended to six months if the need arises.

The address has been fully secured with metal screens by the landlord, London and Quadrant Housing Trust formerly THT.

Greater Manchester Police and partners work very closely together to prevent offending and disorder in communities and will not hesitate to take action to keep the residents of Trafford safe.
