During Saturday evening (9 September) Police were deployed to Trafford Centre following serious incidents where people have been robbed at knife point.
Police spotted three potential offenders around the bus station when they caught up with them after a short pursuit they found a large machete down the pants of one individual and a kitchen knife in the bag of one other male.
All 3 males were detained and were taken into custody.
Depending on how old these males were anyone carrying a machete will be sentenced to no more than 4-years in jail for possession of a bladed article in a public place, if it can be proved these males used it in a robbery things will be much worse.
Anyone under 18 will be sent to a Youth Offender Institution once the offender goes over the age of 21 they will be moved to an adult prison.
