Cycling company Shimano has recalled some of its cranksets that could break which would be potentially very dangerous if it snapped whilst someone was cycling.

The cranksets affected by this recall are: ULTEGRA FC-6800, FC-R8000 and DURA-ACE FC-9000, FC-R9100 and FC-R9100-P all of these cranksets are from 2012 to 2019 no other cranksets are affected by the recall.

Your bike shop will inspect your crankset and replace it with a new one for free if its found to be defective you can do this from 1 October 2023.

We suggest not to be using your bike if you have the cranksets listed above.
