Manchester bound Emirates A380 diverted to Birmingham due to high winds tonight

After the bomb scare at Manchester Airport last night the Emirates A380 (EK19) had more drama tonight (18 October) after trying to land at Manchester.

The aircraft had difficulty with landing and did a couple of go around’s and attempted to land again but the wind was to high and the captain aborted and diverted to Birmingham.

Other aircraft had issues landing due to the wind although some of the smaller aircraft managed to touchdown, the captain of the Emirates flight decided after a second attempt that it was too dangerous and opted to divert.

The aircraft is expected to return back to Manchester tomorrow.
