Hale’s baby and children’s pre-loved sale helping hundreds of parents tackle cost of living crisis this Christmas

A twice-yearly baby and children’s quality preloved items sale is helping hundreds of parents save money this Christmas by hosting an event at St Peter’s Assembly Rooms in Hale on Saturday 18 November.

The sale, which has raised more than £16,000 for local children’s hospitals in the last five years alone, started around 40 years ago and typically has more than 5,000 quality items at bargain prices.

From books to board games, clothes to shoes, toys and baby equipment, the sale has everything needed to kit children out from newborn to 10 years old. The items are high-quality featuring top brands such as Marks and Spencer, Joules, Next, Mini Boden and many more.

Vendors can register to sell for free and 25% of their profits will go to Hughie and Freddie’s play appeal for the Royal Manchester’s Children’s Hospital.

Kate Hasluck, Chair of the sale Committee, said:

“The St Peter’s Good As New sale is a paradise for parents, especially those looking to kit their kids out with lovely, quality and new-to-them clothes, toys, games and books at bargain prices. The parents and carers who come to the sale typically save hundreds of pounds and many of our items still have tags and labels on them or are brand new in box. We are looking forward to a bumper sale this Saturday 18 November and we expect to raise hundreds of pounds for the Royal Manchester’s Children’s Hospital too. It is win-win!”

Local buyer Kirsty added:

“I have five children so it’s a major expense but I still want them to have lovely clothes, toys and books. The Good As New sale has been fantastic over the years – I’ve saved thousands of pounds and it feels good to recycle perfectly good items while also giving money to an important charity. Great for my wallet, good for the planet and my kids love to see what I’ve picked up for them. I also hide away lots of Christmas presents too as so many of the items are brand new or un-used.”

Vendor registration for the Good As New sale opens today, Wednesday 18 November. Vendors should email ganstpeters@hotmail.co.uk with their name and email address and they will be given a vendor number to use to label their items.
