The darker nights get longer from Sunday as the UK time zone changes going back one hour in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Due to the longer dark nights many accidents happen on our roads and campaigners for as long as we can remember have been trying to get the government and all concerned to keep the time set at BST which means it will go dark less early potentially saving many people from injury or worse.
As with most things now any time change happens automatically however some things still need to be manually adjusted and for those that have clocks and timers.
The good news for all those that do not like the darker nights is that just before Christmas Day the nights start to once again become lighter again although you won’t notice until around February.
