You might have noticed the new brightly coloured yellow posts that have been installed with cameras at the top and sensors underneath well these are CCTV cameras tracking your every move!
It is part of the Bee network (TFGM) and they say will help cut down accidents for cyclists and pedestrians which is a good thing however they are also for enforcement.
The APNR cameras are sophisticated and uses radar instead of sensors on the road, it is believed also these cameras will catch more people out as they are capable of recording your speed nearer 2 miles after you past one, they also do not need flash!
At this time the cameras are installed on Manor Avenue in Sale just before NISA on that side, we are aware of one at the top of Mile Road opposite Isherwood Road in Carrington and their is one on Stockport Road in Timperley just after the bridge, more are going to be installed for example one will be going up in late November at the Junction of Carrington Lane and Carrington Spur.
We will keep everyone informed of where they will all be so you can take the right decision and slow down which will not only save lives but will also save you a few quid.
Whilst nothing has been mentioned yet it could be in the near future that Manchester has a new type of ULEZ scheme where these sophisticated cameras could also catch you out for emissions! nothing is off the table!
