Organisers of the inaugural Halloween Lakeside Light Trail at Partridge Lakes Fishery have declared their recent October attraction a huge success.
They say they were overwhelmed with the visitor number and feedback for the scenic woodland journey, which was suitable for the whole family and welcomed dogs.
The Halloween Lakeside Light Trail along with later added scary event The Haunting took place at Partridge Lakes Fishery in Culcheth, Warrington and ran from Monday 2 October until Tuesday 31 October 2023. This was the first event of its kind created on the 70-acre site, set in the idyllic Cheshire countryside.
More than 10,000 people attended the new event and it’s just been announced that it will return in October 2024 with tickets going on sale in the new year.
With months of planning and design, the fishery was transformed into an enchanting trail along the lakeside and through the woodlands, with magical light installations, spookily themed sections, and atmospheric sound effects. In addition to the trail, there was a free to enter cozy welcome hub, with exciting food and drink outlets, and along the trail there was another stop for further treats and refreshments.
Close friends Barbara Ikin the Fishery Manager and Callum Morgan from Marketing Agency Morgan Digital worked together to make the event a success, which employed almost 100 staff.
Fishery Manager Barbara Ikin said: “I feel incredibly proud and grateful, that as a small business, we have completed our first large-scale event and it’s been a huge success. It’s all credit to the small, dedicated team who have worked wonders. The visitor numbers have been astonishing and to have people travel from all over the country to the event was fantastic and unexpected!
“We are already looking at what elements and surprises can be added to enhance the experience further for next year. The feedback from both visitors and the media has been amazing, and we now feel encouraged to create even more seasonal events, so watch this space!”
Callum Morgan added: Since Barbara took over Partridge Lakes and I started Morgan Digital we have worked together to help each other’s businesses grow. Barbara came up with the idea for the Halloween Lakeside Light Trail and kindly asked me to be involved to help put on her biggest event so far.
“Our 32-year friendship was certainly tested at points but by the end of 5 weeks it’s all smiles as we look forward to planning next year’s event.”
