Despite the conditions lots of people turned up to Sale Town Hall to remember the war dead and those who are currently on active duty.

The two minute silence was observed perfectly by all, even the many dogs that turn up with their owners.

During the event our reporter overheard some people saying that we should chip in and buy a decent Union Jack flag as the one used to lower and raise the flag is in really bad state and for some watching on shows a disrespect.

The young troops who marched today along with the many children behind them must have been incredibly proud of themselves with so much support from those looking on.

In today’s world though things are much different for any military with conventional wars which don’t happen due to the threat of Nuclear War, we have seen Russia invading Ukraine and many innocent people have sadly died but this would not happen in a NATO country due in part because of nuclear weapons and anyone invading would get annihilated.

We have to also remember our troops that have done their time and some trying to get back into civilian life again, some are also disabled through war and sadly some are on the streets with no where to live! what a complete disgrace this is by the UK government who obviously do not seem to care about them.

Remembrance Day 2023 in Sale, Lest we forget.
