If you have an iPhone you should by now have the new iOS 17 update downloaded which most people will not be aware that a setting could cause security issues.

The name drop feature whilst was designed for ease of use where you can transfer information by a simple touch of your phone can also be a security issue whilst you are out and about.

Someone could easily get your information if you have an iPhone, this does not apply for mobiles that did not get the update in September such as iPhone 8, 8 plus and iPhone X.

To fix this issue go into settings, tap general then airdrop, once there you have several options we suggest to turn to contacts only or to turn the thing off completely by tapping Bringing Devices Together and make sure its not showing as green then you will be safe.

Apple has designed this for ease of use and fortunately given the ability for users to change things and so expect no security patches in another update.

We suggest all iPhone users to change the settings with immediate effect.
