Local homebuilder Miller Homes has donated a number of cold weather necessities to Manchester Care and Repair for its 2023 ‘Winter Warmer’ initiative.
Miller Homes’ Varsity Quarter development in Northenden is within close proximity to Manchester Care and Repair, and as part of their community work, the builder teamed up with the charity to help out people in the community who are struggling, especially during winter, by providing essential winter items to support those who need it most.
Manchester Care and Repair supports “older, disabled, and vulnerable people” to stay safe, warm, and independent in their own homes for as long as possible, along with helping maintain their homes, maximise their income, and access the support they need in later life or after a period of illness.
Miller Homes contributed a donation of hot water bottles, something at the top of the charity’s wish list this winter.
Michael Burgess, Business and Development Officer at Manchester Care and Repair said: “We’d love to say a massive thank you to Miller Homes for reaching out and helping us with our winter initiatives. We’ve been able to help a lot of people thanks to this contribution, and it’s greatly appreciated.”
Clare Noakes, Miller Homes’ Sales Director for the North West, added: “We’re always looking to help out our local communities in any way we can, and the work that Manchester Care and Repair do, should certainly not go unnoticed! We’re very pleased to be partnered with them.”
Miller Homes’ flagship development in Northenden, Varsity Quarter, is transforming the old Manchester College site into a collection of three-to-four-bedroom homes, all of which are sustainably built and feature spaces for home working and flexible living. It was found in February 2023 that new homes such as these can save up to £2.2k on energy bills as opposed to older builds, according to the NHBC.
The development sales centre on site is now open to visit and those interested can register their interest online. It can be found at Sale Road, Northenden, Manchester, M23 0DD.
