New blow for Partington as former Post Office set to be a hair salon

Partington’s only post office on Hall Lane shut down last year and left the entire community with nothing other than ATMs.

Trafford Labour councillors mentioned that this was a new blow for the area, and now it is going to be a hair salon basically any chances of Partington having another post office at least in that location is zero.

The Post Office did say though “It is our intention to continue a service in Partington with as little disruption as possible, but we do understand how important Post Office services are to communities, so please accept our apologies for the concern this may have caused local residents.”

Partington councillors on the Trafford Labour website previously said:

“In this context local facilities are all the more important – yet in recent times we have seen the steady erosion of local services – as shops, pubs and other outlets have all closed down.

“With no rail or tram station and a long bus ride to neighbouring centres, the closure of any facility in Partington is keenly felt.

“The closure of the Post Office would be a devastating blow for Partington, leaving a whole community of 8,000 people bereft of vital services.”

This news though will not go down lightly with people in Partington although a new hair salon might be a good thing for some, the majority will want to know if the area will ever get a post office again.
