Police were called on (Wednesday 13 December 2023) at around 2pm, to reports of a disturbance at a business property on Talbot Road in Stretford.
It is believed that two individuals were in a dispute over a parking space which led to one man becoming aggressive and confrontational.
Upon attending the disturbance, officers became aware of a strong cannabis smell coming from the suspect and subsequently arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of driving while disqualified, section 39 assault and possession with intent to supply Class B drugs.
Following his arrest, a search of the business property took place which unearthed Class A and Class B drugs which are thought to be worth an estimated street value of £50,000 and £7,000 in cash.
A 49-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs and money laundering.
Both men remain in police custody for questioning and enquiries are ongoing.
Inspector Justin Woodward from GMP’s Trafford district said: “This is a really significant find for us and it comes off the back of some fantastic proactive police work, our officers trusted their instincts and have subsequently taken a large amount of drugs and cash off the streets.
“The supply of drugs and drug dealing is obviously a concern for those who live in the Trafford area and we are working hard to eradicate this problem.
“Anyone who is involved in this type of crime, we will catch up with you and you will be brought to justice.”
