Children’s charity and Poundbakery give festive cheer to 12-year-old Olivia from Altrincham

Children’s charity Brainwave and Poundbakery, located on School Road in Sale, have joined forces this festive season to bring joy to 12-year-old Olivia (Liv) and her family by presenting them with a delightful hamper, filled with an assortment of her favourite bakery treats.

Liv was born with a rare brain condition called Hemimegalencephaly and a subsequent operation left her with hemiplegic cerebral palsy, a condition that has resulted in weakness and reduced functionality in her left arm and leg.

Despite these challenges, Liv has shown remarkable determination and progress, being able to walk, run, and jump, albeit with difficulties in speed and coordination. Her inspiring journey has been supported by the bespoke physiotherapy programme developed by Brainwave, showcasing her incredible resilience.

In a heartwarming gesture, the bakery has created a special wicker hamper filled with delicious gingerbread Rudolph the Reindeers and Christmas trees, mouthwatering Bakewell tarts and packs of their award-winning mince pies. This thoughtful gift serves as a small token of appreciation for Liv’s dedication and perseverance.
