Work will get underway sometime this year on land where Partington Social Club once used to operate from on Warburton Lane.
The development which will have 24 flats was approved last year and work will start we believe this year.
These new flats will be all affordable and likely to be given to a housing association once built, whilst we are aware more flats of this type are needed we are concerned that existing infrastructure will not be able to cope with so many people and the nightmare scenario where people will be turned away from the only GP surgery etc.
Interestingly one of the application notes under the file Community Engagement says that the application must have a public consultation however no member of the public is seen either objecting or approving on the application.
We are aware though Partington Parish Council has approved the plans according to notes seen in the application this might be considered enough for the development to progress.
It has though been sometime since the development was approved by Trafford Council although they have up to three years to get the ball rolling, with costs spiralling it might be the reason for the delay.
The plans have been altered several times to make sure everyone is happy with design in keeping with the appearance of the immediate area, with more than enough screening with trees and fencing it will be almost invisible going towards Partington Shopping Centre.
We have since contacted the developer for the latest information.
