The words ‘Housing Developments’ must be horrific for some people in Partington knowing fully the chaos it will bring along with other developments in Carrington.

Trafford Council and Sigma Simple Life Homes have linked up to bring the area an extra 98 homes on Millbank Lock which is estimated to be completed by 2026.

The Countryside homes development next to Millbank is currently being built which will see over 500 homes being built, another development on the former Partington Social Club could start this year or next, more housing developments are planned for Partington.

No new infrastructure is planned for the area or any new roads or medical infrastructure, shops other than a wellbeing garden! and incredibly Trafford Council are having some kind of fan fare about this to maybe try and disguise Millbank development.

The understanding that Trafford needs more housing is clear, just common sense should tell you that to dump all these housing developments into one small area must come with other infrastructure or the existing and new people will surely struggle.

Cllr James Wright, Trafford Council’s Executive Member for Housing and Advice, said: “Trafford Council is totally committed to providing more homes across the borough and this project is one of a number currently underway. We are also thrilled to be working in partnership with Sigma and Simple Life Homes to bring to life a biodiversity wellbeing green space. The project aligns with several of Trafford Council’s priorities of reducing health inequalities and addressing our climate crisis and will ensure that staff and pupils have access to an outdoor space which will improve overall wellbeing for years to come.

“As a local authority, we believe that such cross-sector community partnership engagement is crucial to achieving the borough’s priorities for local people and places, as we aim to make a significant and positive difference to many lives. We hope this biodiversity project will be the first of many across the borough, demonstrating the power of collaboration. By business and community partners working together, we can accomplish great things.”
