Its been over a week since the sinkhole opened up on Covershaw Lane near to Partington which meant Chapel Lane and Moss Lane junction with Covershaw Lane was closed.

The roadwork signage and cones was from yesterday 10 March 2024 still blocking one lane of Moss Lane and more cones and barriers are still on the road coming from Chapel Lane.

This has angered motorists who are fed up as to why the roadwork signage has not been cleared, further on near to the sinkhole which has not been seen to yet and arguably increasing in size the roadwork barriers are still in place around the sinkhole but other barriers and cones are not in the right place and slightly blocking which is a very small part of the road.

With the huge road defects and potholes now a sinkhole things are increasingly becoming dangerous on Covershaw Lane and Sinderland Lane in parts for all road users.

We have seen huge HGV’s go the same way including the big community buses and large vans we suggest not to be going down Covershaw Lane and instead take the left road (Moss Lane) towards Warburton Lane until the Sinkhole is fixed and the roadwork infrastructure is cleared.
