A 5G mast that was refused by Trafford Council will now go up after mobile network Three appealed and won.

The 16ft mast will be built near Nisa on Manor Avenue in Sale and work is scheduled to happen on 26 April 2024 according to GM Roadworks.

Trafford refused the mast due to sighting and appearance however the planning inspectorate decided otherwise and the mast goes up, the health issues that will come with this mast was sidelined from the inspectorate who said:

Concern has been expressed about the potential effects of the proposed
installation on health. The appellant, however, has provided a certificate to
confirm that the proposal has been designed to comply with the guidelines
published by the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation
Protection (ICNIRP). In these circumstances, the Framework advises that
health safeguards are not something which a decision-maker should determine.
No sufficiently authoritative evidence has been provided to indicate that the
ICNIRP guidelines would not be complied with or that a departure from national
policy would be justified

On the ICNIRP website it states “We wish to clarify that ICNIRP does not issue certificates to verify the safety of any device or installation. Any such certificates and declarations are issued independently of ICNIRP, and ICNIRP does not evaluate their accuracy”

It goes even more concerning that the ICNIRP certificate is not even a certificate look below:

Even for 4G masts this same or similar certificate has been given and has been used to declare its safe and there is nothing to worry about, this as you can see is not even slightly correct.

At the very least and surely residents would expect something to be safe to use and like an electronic item with a CE mark on it declaring it is safe, we ask then where is the certificate that declares 4G and 5G monopoles, Millimetre Wave 5G antennas, and Massive MIMO safe to use?

We agree the technology is needed to speed up things, give more choice and a better signal, at what cost though?
