Covershaw Lane which is near Partington has been closed now for over three weeks and some residents are becoming frustrated.

The issues are to do with a small sinkhole which has since been given some attention but has not been filled in, the investigation process could take some time due to water underneath the road building up and eroding the rock formation which causes a void which is what causes sinkholes.
Once the Trafford 10K running event finished the road was not closed off and traffic was seen going around the closed off sinkhole, the entire road has now been closed to traffic, cyclists though are still able to get through.
For people wanting to get to Partington you will need to go down Moss Lane towards Warburton Lane.
We have asked Trafford Council for more information.
