Miller Homes
proudly announces a £1000 donation to Little Green Sock Project. A charity that dedicates it’s time to alleviating poverty amongst Greater Manchester families, whilst promoting sustainability.

The initiative, dedicated to providing essentials for families in need while advocating for sustainable consumption, has received a significant boost from the homebuilder’s Community Fund.

The Community Fund was set up by Miller Homes in 2022 with the aim of giving local groups the opportunity to apply for donations between a minimum of £250 and a maximum of £2,000 as part of the builder’s ongoing commitment to support communities. It has seen particular success in the North West, supporting many good causes across the region. So far, over £100,000 of funding has been given out across the UK.

The charity has revealed that the donation will support the project’s initiatives in collecting, sorting, and distributing donated clothing and children’s items to families facing financial challenges in Greater Manchester. The project not only assists families in need but also contributes to building a more circular economy by reusing and gifting items donated by the local community.

Catherine D’Albertanson, Co-Founder of the Little Green Sock Project expressed her gratitude for the funding, commenting: “With Miller Homes’ support, we can continue our mission of reducing the financial burden of clothing for families in need across Trafford and surrounding areas. Together, we’re making a real difference in the lives of local people.”

Clare Noakes, Miller Homes’ Sales Director for the North West, added: “We are committed to building strong communities where families can thrive. We’re proud to support Little Green Sock Project with a £1,000 donation from our Community Fund. Their dedication to alleviating poverty and promoting sustainability in Greater Manchester aligns perfectly with our values. This donation will help them continue their vital work of providing clothing and essential items to families in need, while also fostering a more circular economy.”

Miller Homes continues to be a good neighbour to the Greater Manchester community, previously having supported local charity ‘Care & Repair’ and ‘The Mustard Tree’ which received large donations of winter warmers, and toys to support their ongoing initiatives.

Little Green Sock Project is located close by to Miller Homes’ Varsity Quarter development in Northenden, Manchester, where they have sold 72% of the homes with a growing community of 84 families.

The second round of community funding is now open for 2024, and Miller Homes encourages all local community and charity groups to apply before closing date, Wednesday 24th April 2024.
