Manchester Marathon: Road signs warning of Potholes in Trafford

We all know about the huge problem with potholes and many defects on Trafford’s roads now road signage for Manchester Marathon warns runners about the problem.

This must be highly embarrassing for Trafford Council and One Trafford.

With the council spending lots of money to keep our roads in good repair, many of the roads that needed resurfacing did not get the repair and now left in a worse and dangerous state, the incredibly insane idea that One Trafford will not deal with a road defect because it deems it as “Not a pothole” is causing dangers to all road users more so cyclists.

The materials the council is using is of poor quality and this is causing further problems as patching huge potholes end up worse than before.

For the runners of the marathon who have to slog it out for 26.2 miles do not need to be even thinking of potholes and defects, many will be using the force to get around to the end line and will weaken, if they do not see the pothole or defect then a bad injury will occur, this signage must be a wake up call for the council and One Trafford to act more responsibly and not to be cutting corners.

For anyone running the marathon we suggest to be wearing big foamed trainers/shoes for the event which will help ease the problems.
