A proposed change of use from residential childminding home to a day care nursery has had mixed reaction.

The day care nursery at the junction of Alston Road and Walton Road will have space for 40 children and will require 9 staff members.

Much of the objections are to do with car parking spaces and noise issues where those in favour believe the proposal will make a huge difference to the children due to how amazing the staff are.

The amount of cars dropping off the children will be problematic as they would be all coming at roughly the same time and with Walton Road being busy much of the time queues may start form in that area causing some delays for local people.

Some of those objecting are concerned about the potential for noise issues although the applicant has issued a supporting statement on how they will reduce any noise problems.

Some objections about the walks to Walton Park will not always happen due to weather conditions, according to the application two more parks are mentioned although not named, one could be Newton Park which is a bit of a trek for children to walk and other parks are much further away.

The objections are piling up and will be a factor once councillors get to deal with the application although they would agree a nursery is needed and would suit most families living in the Brooklands ward.

At this time no transport document has been submitted with the application and it might be a good idea for them to add one to try and reassure local people.
