Police responded to calls from Sainsbury’s in Altrincham after a male was seen taking £150 worth of meat mostly lamb from the shelves and running off on 19 April 2024.

The same individual had already been caught stealing £200 worth of meat from Aldi in Broadheath and was given a CBO (Criminal Behaviour Order) banning him from Arndale Centre in Manchester City Centre, Police are now looking for the CBO to be extended to Sale and Altrincham Aldi and Sainsbury’s store.

We are aware of Coop stores reporting on regular thefts from local stores in Trafford with one manager telling our reporter a while back that “Police would not come to any robbery under £100 and staff would be too scared to confront the offender in many instances.”

Store thefts are on the rise due to many factors one of course will be due to the cost of living crisis although store thefts of high priced items like meat have been an issue for many years.
