A man from Manchester has been charged with attempted murder and dangerous driving after he drove a van over a Police Officer on Beech Road in Sale on 5 May 2024.

Kyle Woods aged 33 from the Brooklands area will appear today 8 May 2024.

These charges are a result of investigation by detectives following an incident during the evening on Sunday 5 May 2024 when one of our officers attended a domestic incident on Beech Road in Sale.

The male officer was subsequently hit by a van and suffered a fractured tibia (shin) and is thankfully currently recovering from the injuries sustained.

Chief Superintendent Colette Rose of our Trafford district said; “On behalf of our officers we’d like to thank the local community for their concern and well wishes to our injured colleague.“Everyday our officers respond to incidents with the aim of helping the public and keeping them safe and do not expect or deserve to be targeted in this way.”
