Greater Manchester Police responded to calls from concerned members of the public who saw a vehicle being driven at high speed several times up and down Manor Avenue in Sale.

The incident occurred yesterday evening of 8 May 2024 and concerned many people as children were playing nearby.

Following identification of the vehicle via Trafford CCTV police were able to find the car that was later parked up with three males around it, all ran off however one of the males was caught and arrested.

The car had no insurance or who it belonged to so it was seized, following an inspection police found a baseball bat in the boot and the male was arrested for possession of an offensive weapon and taken into custody.

Carrying a baseball bat in a public place is classed as an offensive weapon and can carry a sentence from 6 months to as much as 4 years depending on the circumstances.
