Eurowings’ first flight from Manchester to Stuttgart took to the skies on the evening of 9 May 2024.
The new route has been launched ahead of football’s Euro 2024 tournament in the summer and will be popular with fans heading to Germany to take in the action.
Eurowings’ new service will run four times a week on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Sundays using an Airbus A319.
Stuttgart is the third German destination Eurowings serve from Manchester, joining Dusseldorf and Hamburg. It is in addition to a range of other routes to Germany that other airlines operate from Manchester – meaning passengers heading to watch the football or just to visit the country will be spoilt for choice.
Manchester Airport Commercial Director Stephen Turner said:
“We are proud to serve the people of the North with an ever-growing range of over 200 destinations built around what travellers from the region want.
“Germany is a hugely popular country with people from the North and with the Euros just around the corner that is only set to grow. Eurowings launching this new service is really exciting for us and our passengers.”
The Stuttgart Arena is one of a number of grounds around German that will host games during Euro 2024 – including Scotland vs Hungary on 23 June and one of the quarter final matches.
